Iraqi Kurdish fighters have fully retaken control of the strategic dam of Mosul from ISIL militants in northern Iraq.
According to Iraqi Kurdish officials on Sunday, Peshmerga forces managed to drive out the militants and regained the control of Iraq’s largest dam which had been seized by ISIL terrorist on August 7.
According to Kurdish sources, the Kurdish fighters are still clearing mines and booby traps from the area around the dam.

The dam provides northern Iraq with water and electricity.
