Following a report of a potential attack on the Tunisia Mall in Berges du Lac area of the capital Tunis, the US embassy warned its citizens to avoid the shopping center. The embassy states: “report of unknown credibility indicates the possibility of a terrorist attack”.
Tunisia has been under a state of emergency following a suicide bomb attack on a presidential guard bus. This was after devastating terrorist attacks on a Tunis museum and a beach hotel that killed scores of people.
American media services in the last few days have tried portraying Tunisia as the sole success story of the Arab Spring, but these events suggest otherwise.
