The Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) is rolling through much of Libya’s northern coast, capturing several sites in this oil rich part of the country that possesses one of the largest shorelines in the Mediterranean.
On Monday morning, the terrorist group imposed full control over the city of Bin Jawad in the Sirte District, after a series of intense firefights with rebel forces that are loyal to the Libyan provisional government in Tripoli.
With the capture of Bin Jawad, ISIS now controls two major cities on the Libyan coast, while the government forces remain unable to maintain their ground against this growing terrorist group.
