The Russian-made Shilka self-propelled anti-aircraft weapon also participated in the maneuvers and was able to hit targets with high accuracy.
The T-90 tanks were also displayed during these military drills, as Algeria boasts one of the largest tank units in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
Also on hand were Russian-made Mi- 28NM combat aircraft, which provided air cover for the ground forces.
These exercises are part of the evaluation of the first phase of the combat preparation program for the year 2020-2021, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Defense.
Also, among its objectives is to train commanders to lead operations and develop their knowledge in planning and implementing their military objectives.
